The Art of Puja

led by Dr. Vigneshwar Bhat

The invaluable knowledge and wisdom enshrined in our rich cultural heritage is the foundation for India’s illumination and brightness. The nectar of this great knowledge is embedded in the sanctum sanctorum of the mother goddess of Sanskrit. Sanskrit is the root of Indian cultural heritage.

I am greatly honoured to have Dr. Vigneshwar Bhat lead you through this course, the very person that taught me the art of puja 5 years ago and the man that married Rob & I in Hyderbad, India. This beginner course will provide you a clear understanding of this sacred tradition. Through the passing of this ancient knowledge, you will learn to perform a puja at home or in your shala. Vigneswarji is a Vedic Priest, Sanskrit Scholar and the Assistant Professor at Amrita Darshanam (International Centre for Spiritual Studies). I am truly humbled to offer you this course.

Why Learn Puja? Holding the mind quietly is very difficult. 2 types of upasna (path to do the meditation which is explained in the tantras and puranic texts) can help lead us to this level of concentration.

1st – saguna (meditation with image) through Saguna we are trying to reach nirguna 2nd – nirguna (meditation without image ) reaching this level is difficult. Puja comes under the first step (saguna) meditation with image and it is part of Bhakti Yoga & Dhyana Yoga

You will learn more about these concepts and how to practice a simple puja at home or in your yoga shala.

Sundays 2:00pm-2:45pm CET / 1:00pm-1:45pm UK
