Making Your Asana Practice Safer and Smarter with Dr ROB LAMPORT & TARA MITRA

In this workshop you will learn methods for how to practice safely, avoid injury and maintain the benefits from your practice.

Rob will discuss key areas in the body and how they are designed to move and then review different ways asana can be practiced as well as the design and function of the body and the common ways that strain can occur.

Tara will review different asanas and discuss how they can be safely performed as well as offering modifications that will carry the same benefit as the posture in its full form.

Low Back Pain and Yoga – Saturday, December 14, 2019

HOW TO SAFELY AND EFFECTIVELY WORK WITH LOW BACK PROBLEMS 
This workshop is for anyone who is interested in better understanding low back problems and how to effectively manage them through yoga asana. We will review basic anatomy and mechanics of the lower back and combine insights from both yoga therapy as well as modern scientific research.

Rob will discuss the theortical aspects of the lower back, Tara & Rob will discuss common movements made during asana practice and how to modify your practice safely, Tara will end the class with a gentle asana practice so please bring your mat.
